Giving
birth is often described as a life-altering
event and one of life's most remarkable
processes. Unfortunately not all deliveries
go as
planned. Eighty
percent of all childbirths end up in some
form of complication. A lot of
trust is put into the medical team and sometimes
they do not always make the right decisions.
The result can be devastating and will change
the course of the child's life forever. There
are different medical
errors that, had they been avoided, may
have prevented your child from a life with
Cerebral Palsy.
A study by Harvard Medical
School found that the vast majority of patients
harmed by a medical mistake never find out
what really happened to them. This site is
designed to help distinguish what may have
been a case of medical
error and to provide information
on your legal rights. Parents
of a Cerebral Palsy child that was negligently
injured at birth may have the right to seek
compensation for the lifelong costs
of raising a child with special needs to attend
to, including medical expenses, wage losses,
therapy, pain and suffering, and mental anguish.
